Dolls by Marita Specializing in one of a kind painting designs on reproduction porcelain doll molds in the “Fantasy” Clowns series, original Father Christmas clothing designs, and unique clothing designs for reproduction Porcelain Lady dolls. I have been blessed with a creative gift during my lifetime and my love for porcelain dolls and for the unusual led me to painting and dressing porcelain reproduction dolls beginning in 1988. The Fantasy Clowns are my interpretation of the Pierrot and French Clown porcelain dolls. An extensive use of 22kt fired Gold and elegant and fancy fabrics is evident on all of the reproduction porcelain dolls in the Fantasy Clown Series that I paint or dress. The designs on the faces of the porcelain dolls in the Fantasy Clown Series have been created by me and are individually drawn and painted by free hand.......a pattern has never been used. Therefore, no two porcelain doll faces will ever be entirely identical. None of these porcelain dolls are mass produced. The names on the individual porcelain dolls are just to describe the design.......you name her when she is in your arms. The designs on the porcelain faces take numerous firings, from 7 to 10, to capture the shine and brilliance of the 22kt gold and the translucent magic of the colors. A portion of the design is duplicated on the left porcelain hand and left porcelain ankle. In addition to the 22kt gold firings on the face, 22kt gold is used on the fingernails and the slippers are painted in 22kt gold. To complete the beauty of the porcelain doll faces, I apply individual fake eyelashes and use very real looking eyes. The bodies are cloth and are posable. With all the detail in the designs, the clothing, and the final details. I spend approximately 20 hours to complete one porcelain doll in the Fantasy Clown Series. Lots of ribbons, lace, and fancy fabrics are used in the costumes for each type of porcelain doll. The color used in the design of the faces of the porcelain dolls in the Fantasy Clown Series is enhanced by the color of the costume. The collars always have an embellishment of ribbons, net, lace, cording and/or flowers attached. Each porcelain doll is signed and dated. These porcelain dolls are lovingly brought to life in a smoke free environment. You will instantly fall in love with the detail when she arrives in your home.
